We are building the vocabulary of a movement
The Green Glossary is a free, community-driven cannabis education dictionary. Built for everyone from the first-time curious to the thirty-year grower.
What is The Green Glossary?
The Green Glossary is a community-driven cannabis education platform serving everyone from first-time consumers to seasoned advocates. General cannabis media tends to focus on products and culture. Clinical resources tend to prioritize medical terminology over readability. We sit in the middle, building a living dictionary that gives every person the language they need to understand, discuss, and advocate for cannabis.
We are not just documenting cannabis culture. We are building the vocabulary of a movement.

What We Stand For
Accessibility
Cannabis knowledge should be comfortable and welcoming whether this is your first time looking into cannabis or you have been growing for thirty years. We meet people where they are. No gatekeeping, no judgment, no prior knowledge required.
Community Roots
This resource is rooted in the cannabis community and the culture that built it. Long before textbooks and research were common, growers, caregivers, and patients developed a deep working knowledge of this plant. We are here to honor that knowledge and make sure it is not lost.
Truth as a Foundation
We are pro-cannabis and pro-truth, and we think those two things go together. Good advocacy is built on accurate information. We hold ourselves to high standards because the community deserves reliable sources, and we want to be one of them.
The Power of Language
The words we use around cannabis shape how it is understood, how it is regulated, and how people are treated under the law. The difference between “marijuana” and “cannabis,” between “user” and “consumer,” between “drug” and “plant” matters more than most people realize.
Advocacy Through Education
An informed community is the most powerful thing we can build. When people have the language to talk clearly about cannabis with their doctors, their lawmakers, and their neighbors, the conversation changes. That is what we are here for.
The Story Behind The Glossary
The Green Glossary was built by Sam Reichbart, a cannabis patient, connoisseur, and educator based in New Jersey. After years of running into inconsistent terminology, slang that meant different things depending on who you asked, and clinical language that left everyday consumers behind, the need became clear. Cannabis needed a real dictionary. One built by and for the people who actually use, grow, and advocate for the plant.
Every one of the 680+ definitions on this site was personally researched and written. Not generated. Not copied. Written, because the community deserves accuracy and accuracy requires care.
To close the cannabis knowledge gap by providing free, community-driven education that helps people speak confidently, advocate effectively, and participate in a conversation that affects all of us.
A future where no one loses a job, a home, or their freedom over a plant that millions of Americans use safely every day. And one where The Green Glossary played a small role in helping build the informed community that made that future possible.
