Small, teardrop shaped, modified leaves, covered densely with large, stalked resin glands that contain the majority of the cannabinoid and aromatic compounds. They form the bulk of the substance and weight in cannabis flower. When pollinated, they are responsible for surrounding and protecting the growing seed.
