A colloquial shortening for Chemotype Hunt. The process of growing multiple cannabis plants from seeds of the same variety to identify the best chemotype, or chemical expression, of that variety. Each seed can produce plants with different chemical characteristics, such as cannabinoids, terpenes, and other aromatic compounds. Growers conduct a chemo hunt to find the plant that exhibits the most desirable chemical profile, which they can then clone and propagate for future harvests.
