A high stress plant training technique, very similar to topping, used by cannabis growers to promote bushier growth and increase yields. In this technique, fresh growth above a set of lateral branches is chosen and partially removed, leaving behind approximately 20-30% of the leaves. Fimming typically creates 4 main lateral branches rather than 1 main cola. The term FIM is short for “F*** I Missed”, originating from growers topping their plants incorrectly, but finding the results to still be positive.
