A compound that belongs in a series where each member differs by one repeating unit. Cannabinoids have an alkyl side chain, with varying numbers of carbon atoms. The longer the chain of carbon atoms, the better it fits and binds with the CB1 receptor leading to some more mild and some more powerful versions of cannabinoids.
