Abbreviation for Cannabidiolic Acid. The raw acid form of CBD, found abundantly in living cannabis plants. Like other cannabinoid acids, CBDA must undergo decarboxylation—a process involving heat or aging—to convert into CBD, the more commonly recognized and studied form of the compound. Some research shows that in some formulations, CBDa may be more bioavailable than CBD, and have shown some positive results in animal studies for nausea. It is also being studied for anti-inflammatory and antibacterial properties.
