A type of electromagnetic radiation with wavelengths between 700 nanometers (nm) and 1 millimeter (mm), just beyond the visible red light spectrum. In cannabis cultivation, infrared light, especially near-infrared (NIR), can benefit plant growth by increasing heat and promoting the photosynthetic efficiency of certain wavelengths. Infrared light is not directly absorbed by plants for photosynthesis but instead influences the plant’s environment and growth indirectly.
