Tolerance

Part of Speech Noun
Region
National

A person’s reduced response to the effects of a substance over time due to regular use. As tolerance builds, cannabis users may need to consume higher doses or more potent products to achieve the same effects they initially experienced. Tolerance develops because the body, particularly the endocannabinoid system, adapts to repeated exposure to cannabinoids like THC, resulting in desensitized receptors or fewer available receptors.
