The precursor cannabinoid from which many other cannabinoids, such as THCA, CBDA, and CBCA, are synthesized. It is sometimes referred to as the “mother of all cannabinoids” because it is the first cannabinoid formed in the cannabis plant and serves as the foundation for the creation of other cannabinoids. Like other cannabinoid acids, CBGA is non-psychoactive and must undergo decarboxylation (typically through heat) to convert into its active form, CBG (Cannabigerol). It mainly acts in a plant defense role with antioxidant and antibacterial properties. Abbreviated CBGA.
