A type of glandular trichome on cannabis plants, smaller than capitate-stalked trichomes but still responsible for producing and storing cannabinoids and terpenes. Unlike capitate-stalked trichomes, they lack a stalk, so their resin-filled head sits directly on the plant’s surface, making them appear more compact. Capitate-sessile trichomes are found on various parts of the cannabis plant, including leaves, stems, and flowers, though they produce fewer cannabinoids and terpenes than the larger capitate-stalked trichomes.
