Cannabinoids in the Butyl series share a 6-carbon alkyl side chain rather than the standard 5-carbon side chain. The Butyl series is one of several naturally occurring homolog series produced in trace amounts by the cannabis plant. Discovered in 2020 by Italian researchers filling the gap between the Butyl and Phorol series. We have identified THCH and CBDH in this series. The longer chain effects how these compounds interact with receptors in the body, with THCH having stronger effects than the standard THC but with weaker effects than THCP with its even longer side chain. They are found in only trace amounts in cannabis and research remains limited.
